The next time you visit Canoa, Ecuador, a must-see is the untouched beach of Cabo Posado. This beach is off the beaten path, and you won’t find it in any guidebook; it’s a locals only spot! We got there by a back road and stopped along the way for a 5 minute hike to see howler monkeys. They are natives to this area of Ecuador, and the best time to see them is in the morning and evenings.
The only ways to access this beach are to go by boat from Canoa, or by SUV or 4 wheeler. The boat leaves from the Surf Shack restaurant daily and charges $25 per person. The pictures don’t do it justice; it’s a true must-see the next time you find yourself on the coast of Ecuador!
